Chris Ship is Royal Editor for ITV News.
He is based in London and files royal stories, news, pictures and blogs for all ITV News programmes and on itv.com/news
A regular face on ITV News and Ten, Chris is a senior member of ITV’s reporting team. He joined the Royal bureau after many successful years at Westminster where he was the channel’s Deputy Political Editor. In that role he covered two general elections, interviewed all four recently sitting prime ministers and covered the EU Referendum and the fallout from Brexit. He was the first journalist to break the news of David Cameron’s resignation - both as Prime Minister and later as MP. Chris has a track record in delivering live reports each night with editorial depth and breadth, breaking news on Twitter and Facebook and writing a regular blog on his work: The Royal Rota.
Further afield, Chris has often reported from the USA on politics, on shooting tragedies and from the streets of America’s most deprived cities. He has also travelled widely in Afghanistan, Iraq and beyond, filming with British soldiers on the frontline, as well as reporting from the presidential palaces in Kabul and Baghdad.
Just as at home in the studio, Chris often presents ITV News programmes at the weekend and has anchored network news bulletins live on location.
We are delighted that Chris is returning to moderate this year's Travel Convention, following the positive reaction from delegates to his first Convention appearance in Abu Dhabi last year.
