Jo McCrostie

Creative Director, Global, The Media & Entertainment Group

A graduate of art and drama school, for over two decades Jo has specialised in audio as a creative platform; writing and producing audio commercials.

Jo, started out at Capital Radio in London as a production assistant, had her first ad on-air within a week, and now is Creative Director at Global, the Media & Entertainment Group. She heads up an award-winning creative team of audio specialists and commercial copywriters.
Heavily influenced by the potent effects of sound, voice and music on human behaviour - Jo draws insight from the growing fields of neuroscience and psychoacoustics to advise advertisers on sonic strategies. She believes that without the confines and restrictions of an image, an idea really can go anywhere and it can be anything. She always tries to think beyond traditional airtime spots, creating commercial activity that integrate more closely with listeners and programming. 
Jo has presented at numerous creative conferences all over the world including a lecture series in India.

Her point of view on audio creativity is often sought out by the national and trade media and in 2018 Jo was President on the Cannes’ Lion Jury for Audio.
